Understanding Lot Sizes in Gold, Silver and Crude

For those of you who are interested but do not know how to trade lot sizes on Commodities above.

Silver:

Standard Lot:

When trading 1 full sized lot on silver, I.e. Volume = 1.00 you are buying 5000 ounces of silver on margin. So your margin held will be 1% of the total price of silver, multiplied by 5000. For example, if silver is trading at 38.000, multiply 38.000 by 5000 and then divide by 100 to get your 1% margin. You would be using $1900 USD in Margin, and your profit and loss will be $50 USD per 2nd decimal point movement.

I.e. If silver is at 37.825 and moves to 37.835 and you are long, you will have made $50 USD.

Or if Silver is at 37.825 and moves to 37.865 and your are long, you would of made $200 USD.

Or if Silver is at 37.950 and moves to 37.970 and your are long, you would of made $100 USD

You would be using $190 USD in Margin, and your profit and loss will be $5 USD per 2nd decimal point movement.

I.e. If silver is at 37.825 and moves to 37.835 and you are long, you will have made $5 USD.

Or if Silver is at 37.825 and moves to 37.865 and your are long, you would of made $20 USD.

You would be using $19 USD in Margin, and your profit and loss will be 50c USD per 2nd decimal point movement.

I.e. If silver is at 37.000 and moves to 37.001 and you are long, you will have made 5c USD.
